Applied Biomechanics is Guelph’s first full-time clinic providing custom foot orthotics, custom orthopedic and neuromuscular bracing for children and adults, cranial molding helmets, canine (dog) bracing, orthopedic footwear, and compression stockings. We are proud to be the only Accredited Facility in the Guelph or Wellington County, as designated by Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC).
Our caring and knowledgeable staff have over 70 years of combined clinical and technical experience. They will ensure you receive orthotic and bracing treatments and products that are unmatched in quality, fit and function.
Applied Biomechanics designs, fabricates, and fits all types of custom orthopedic braces (orthoses). We have helped thousands of clients improve their mobility, and live their lives to the fullest.
Children require unique custom bracing solutions that take into account all aspects of a child’s development, activity level, and individual mobility needs. Braces for children can be fit for any part of the body, but most commonly for the lower extremities.
Our custom foot orthotics are made in our on-site lab using 3D, high-definition laser imaging of your feet, and computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) of the orthotic itself.
Footwear plays an important role in the function (biomechanics) and stability of the foot, ankle, knee and hip. The design and the fit of orthopedic footwear can affect every aspect of your gait and mobility.
Compression socks and stockings are specialized apparel worn to improve blood flow and reduce swelling. With a wide array of colours and styles to choose from, our compression stockings are both stylish and functional.
“Applied Biomechanics will support each client to achieve their goals through the use of orthotic, orthopaedic, neuromuscular and biomechanical bracing, using evidence based best practices to maximize their recovery, independence and performance.”
