Arm, Hand, and Wrist Braces & Orthoses

At Applied Biomechanics, we offer a variety of orthoses designed to add stability to different parts of your arm. Our team can provide everything from hand and wrist braces to shoulder and arm braces, to elbow braces and other custom options.

These orthoses are designed to treat a range of conditions, including different types of arthritis, nerve injuries, joint injuries, tendon and muscle injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and more. Learn more about each brace or orthosis below.

Hand Orthosis (HO)

Hand Orthoses (HO’s) are prescribed and fit for conditions affecting the joints and structures in the hand, fingers or thumb.  They can be used to impart stability and comfort to joints and ligaments affected by the following:

  • Arthritis
  • Nerve injury
  • Joint injury
  • Tendon and muscle injury

Wrist Hand Orthosis (WHO)

Wrist Hand Orthoses (WHO’s) are prescribed and fit for conditions affecting the joints and structures wrist and forearm.  They can be used to impart stability and comfort to joints and ligaments affected by the following:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Arthritis of the wrist
  • Nerve injury (palsy)

Elbow Orthosis (EO)

Elbow Orthoses (EO’s) are prescribed and fit for conditions affecting the elbow joint and structures of the arm and forearm.  They can be used to impart stability and range of motion control to the elbow joint and affected ligaments and muscles.  Conditions treated by elbow orthoses include the following:

  • Tendon and joint capsule injuries
  • Nerve and muscle injuries
  • Arthritis of the elbow

Shoulder Orthoses (SO)

Shoulder Orthoses (SO’s) are prescribed and fit for conditions affecting the shoulder joint and muscular structures of the shoulder and the arm. They can be used to impart stability and range of motion control to the shoulder joint and affected ligaments and muscles. Conditions treated by shoulder orthoses include the following:

  • Rotator cuff injuries and surgery
  • Nerve and muscle injuries
  • Stroke
