Insurance Coverage

Even if you don’t have health benefits, you may be covered by the Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP).

Extended Health Benefits

Extended health benefits through your private or employer-provided insurance may cover a significant portion of the cost for orthotics, bracing, and other medical devices. Coverage varies widely depending on the provider and plan, so it’s important to review your policy details or speak with your benefits coordinator.

Our team can help you understand what’s typically required, like detailed invoices, or claim forms, and provide the documentation you need to submit a successful claim. We’re happy to support you in navigating the process to maximize your available coverage.

Requirements for Insurance Coverage

Although plans will vary, most insurance providers will require the following to be submitted:

  • A prescription for custom orthotics from a recognized prescriber as outlined in your insurance plan.
  • A detailed invoice.
  • Personalized biomechanical and gait analysis.
  • Details pertaining to the manufacturing process.

Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program (ADP)

The Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) provides financial support to help residents access essential medical devices like orthotics, prosthetics, and mobility aids. For many patients, ADP can cover up to 75% of the approved cost, significantly reducing out-of-pocket expenses.

To qualify, patients must be Ontario residents with a valid health card and have a long-term physical disability that requires the device.
